Danielle M. Brown, Account Director – Brands Sales for ESSENCE Communications is the lead on several key cross-category accounts, including Coca-Cola, AT&T, Johnson & Johnson, P&G, Colgate and more.

Danielle is a highly dynamic and professional seasoned multi-platform Media Sales expert with over 14 years experience in account management, new business development and client relationship management.  She has a proven record of sales achievement in varied environments—consistently exceeding sales goals, creating new revenue streams and creating innovative integrated marketing solutions.

Prior to this, in 2016 Danielle was asked to join the Time Inc. Beauty vertical. In this role, she was responsible for managing the print, digital and live-events sales and partnerships for top beauty accounts where she has continued to generate and grown in-book and on-line revenue while creating cross-platform sponsorship packages and establishing deep client relationships that lead to both traditional and non-traditional revenue opportunities for both the client and all Time Inc. properties.

She originally joined Essence in 2007 as Corporate Accounts Manager, where she was responsible for selling advertising and focused marketing programs that delivered positive bottom-line results. In 2010, Danielle was promoted to Beauty Director and her focus shifted to the top beauty accounts at the company. In 2015, as Beauty and Style Director, Brown was instrumental in the successful launch of the Essence BeautyBox—a monthly subscription based box that introduced new products and deepened existing relationships with women of color and Beauty brands.  She also played an integral role in the development and implementation of the first ever Beauty & Style Expo at the 2016 Essence Festival Presented by Coca-Cola.

Prior to joining ESSENCE, Brown served as Senior Account Executive at Black Enterprise Magazine, an Account Executive at USA WEEKEND, and an Account Executive at Jet Magazine. Her career in Publishing was preceded by a stint in the world of Finance. Brown worked as a Business Analyst and Controller for the Private Wealth Management division of Morgan Stanley and out of college completed the Merrill Lynch Operations Management Training program and served as an Account Administrator. She is a graduate of Hampton University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

Brown is an advocate for mentoring young women.  She spends her free time partnering with inner city schools for Career Day,  conducting Self Esteem workshops for young girls, volunteering with Young Women’s Leadership Network, spearheading TYWLS (The Young Woman’s Leadership School) Works! Program at ESSENCE, and she is proud board member of Petals -n- Belles, a mentorship program for girls.
